As I've been digging into the world of organizing ward music, I have found it super helpful when others share their favorite choir numbers, musical numbers, etc. So in an effort to support others planning, here is what we did the last few months of 2022 since I've had this calling. Maybe it will help someone else out there!!
October 2022:
Musical Number - solo "I Stand All Amazed"
Choir Number - "Abide With Me" arranged by Brent Jorgensen in the Hymnplicity Book #5
November 2022:
Choir Number - "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" arranged by Sally Deford. SATB version.
December 2022:
Musical Number - women's group singing "Child in a Manger" by Sally Deford. We adapted the duet version to Soprano/Alto and it turned out lovely!
Primary - "Christmas Bells" and "Stars Were Gleaming" both right from the Children's Songbook.
Christmas Program:
Choir Number - "Away In A Manger" arranged by Sally Deford. This SATB version is to a different melody and so beautiful!
Small Youth Group - singing "Silent Night" right from the hymn book and accompanied by another youth on the guitar.
Choir/Congregation Number - "Joy to the World" arranged by Larice Music Enterprises.
